Rita Albertyn's cake world started in 2013, first making cakes for family and friends. It started to grow into a small business, "The Cake Canvas", is a home based business in Moreleta Park, Pretoria, South Africa. Every cake she creates is custom made from concept to consumption and is a completely original piece of edible art to suit each client.

Her mission is to create the world's most exquisite cakes and her inspiration comes from everywhere: art, fashion, fabric, furniture, architecture, landscapes, science, music, and history and most of all, it comes from each one of her incredible clients.
